The Storm That Planted a Seed – The ARBORIST India Story
In 2012, a powerful cyclone swept through Auroville, toppling trees that had stood for decades. The storm didn’t just break branches — it broke the forest open, exposing how little we truly knew about caring for the giants among us.
In the aftermath, something quietly took root.
Out of the need to restore balance, a group of passionate hands came together — not just to clear the wreckage, but to learn, understand, and respect the living structure of trees. What began as a response to crisis evolved into a lifelong commitment. And so, Arborist India was born — the country’s first tree-care collective grounded in science, skill, and deep ecological respect.
We didn’t come to cut — we came to care. To climb with intention, to prune with knowledge, to relocate with wisdom, and to remove only when life had truly left.
From that stormy beginning, a new kind of tree work emerged — one rooted in awareness, guided by the living rhythm of forests.
